Jeanne Tripplehorn was born on 10 June 1963 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, US. She was born in the family of Tom Tripplehorn and Suzanne (nee Ferguson). Her father used to play guitar with Gary Lewis and the Playboys, in the past.
She worked as a DJ, at the Tulsa radio station KMOD-FM, with the name “Jeanie Summers“, after completing her high school education from Edison High School. She then moved on to graduate from the University of Tulsa. She took training as a stage actress at Julliard School of Drama, New York, and also worked as a TV host.
She is the wife of actor Leland Orser and they have a son. Before this, she was engaged to actor Ben Stiller for a time. She has appeared along with Jean Neely, her grandmother, in a film ‘Reality Bites’, but her name was uncredited.
She is recognized for her roles in ‘Basic Instinct’ opposite Michael Douglas, in ‘Waterworld‘ opposite Kevin Costner and in “The Firm’ opposite Tom Cruise.
