Ginnifer Goodwin was born on 22 May 1978 in Memphis, Tennessee. She was born to Linda, a Federal Express worker, and Tim Goodwin, who had a recording studio. She is the sister of Melissa Goodwin, a known stop motion animator.
She was a student at the Lausanne Collegiate School and completed her graduation from here in 1996. She attended the Hanover College and then the Boston University’s College of Fine Arts and earned the degree of Bachelor of Fine Arts in Acting, with honors in 2001.
She had a break-up with her boyfriend Chris Klein in December 2008 after two years of relationship. She chose to be credited as “Ginnifer” instead of “Jennifer” because she is called in this way, in the regional dialect at her home.
She appeared on television for roles in ‘Law and Order’, ‘Ed‘ and ‘Big Love’. She acted in a TV movie ‘Porn ‘n Chicken’. She has also appeared in films like ‘Mona Lisa Smile’, ‘Win a Date with Tad Hamilton!‘, ‘Walk the Line’ and ‘Birds of America’.
